It's no real surprise that Rob Ambrose elected to take the head coach position at Towson University, his alma mater. Towson has a good (D1-AA) program in the Colonial Athletic conference. Mike Locksley, another Towson alum, just got the head coach's post at New Mexico.<o:p></o:p>

You have to be glad that UConn is a good breeding ground for head coaches (Ambrose is the fourth under Edsall) and that he's received an opportunity to run his own program in his home state. Question is, does he hang around for the UConn bowl game?<o:p></o:p>

It's been interesting to watch the news accounts of Darius Butler's potential draft status as a first rounder. Checking the NFL mock drafts about weekly, I've only seen Butler projected once in the first round, although he is pretty consistently rated third among CBs in the draft, behind two other seniors: Malcolm Jenkins (OSU) and Alphonso Smith (Wake Forest).

Still, it’s nice to know he’s on the prognosticators' radar screens….
